About Irwin Oppenheim

I am a student of Computer Science at the University of Amsterdam. In my free time, I study Philosophy beside.

Together with Gideon van der Sluis, I serve as chazzan (precentor) to a small and cosy shul (synagogue) in downtown Amsterdam. Furthermore I participate in the Amsterdam Synagogue Choir, of which I'm board member, charged with musical research and public relations.

In an effort to share the treasures of Dutch cantorial music with the rest of the world, I started the web site Chazzanut Online.

For this non-commercial site the Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana granted permission to include items belonging to their collection. Reproduction of these items are subject to authorisation by the Bibliotheca Rosenthaliana, Amsterdam University Library.
