Biographies

Chazzanut Online is grateful to be able to publish 30 outstanding articles on chazzanut that were written by Rabbi Geoffrey Shisler. These articles describe the accomplishments of many important chazzanim and composers, from Samuel Alman to Samuel Vigoda, and clearly show Rabbi Shisler's love for cantorial music. The articles were originally written for the "Daf Hashavua" paper of the United Synagogue of England.

Chazzanut Online also acknowledges Jonathan Greenstein for allowing us to publish here his interesting study in two parts on Abraham Saqui, Chazzan Sam Weiss for giving permission to publish his articles on Ein Keloheinu and Mah Nishtanah, Jacob Birnbaum for his article on Am Yisra'eil Chay, and David Olivestone for his biography of Rosenblatt.
